Two seriously injured in rollover crash in Gage County, authorities say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two people were seriously injured Saturday after a single-vehicle crash in Gage County.
Just after 6:15 p.m., a Gage County deputy was waived down at Highway 77 and Highway 112 for an injury accident.
According to the sheriff’s office, one of the people involved in the accident had a “significant” cut to their leg.
The deputy put a tourniquet on their leg to stop the bleeding and called additional help to the scene.
Investigators said a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado — driven by a 19-year-old Kansas man — was driving west on a curve on Highway 77 to continue northbound.
The driver started braking, but the vehicle hydroplaned on the wet road into a ditch on the west side of Highway 77.
According to the sheriff’s office, the vehicle rolled several times before coming to a stop in a nearby hay field.
The 14-year-old passenger was ejected from the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
Authorities said the driver was taken to the Beatrice Community Hospital with serious injuries.
The passenger was taken to Bryan West in Lincoln with serious injuries.
