Man arrested after breaking into northwest Lincoln home with knife, police say

Isiah King

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man was arrested Sunday after police say he broke into a home with a knife.

Just after 6:15 p.m., officers with the Lincoln Police Department were sent to the area of Gregory and Judson streets, near North First and Adams streets.

According to LPD, the victim reported an unknown man had entered her family’s home armed with a knife, pointed it at their dogs and then stole a neighbor’s bicycle.

While officers were on their way to the home, they saw a man matching the description riding the bike nearby.

Officers told him to stop but he kept riding, LPD said.

According to LPD, he was eventually arrested about a mile away.

While searching him, officers found several medications — including a prescription bottle — that were taken from the victim’s home.

Isiah King, 27, was first taken to the hospital and then to the Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of burglary, obstructing a peace officer and theft.

Further investigation found King was the person responsible for stealing an unlocked car at Roper Park around 6 p.m., just before the burglary.

LPD said the vehicle was found about a mile away.
