Inmate missing from corrections center in Omaha arrested

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center in Omaha was found on Monday.

The Omaha Police Department arrested 41-year-old Randy Johnson after he took off his electronic monitoring device near the facility on July 8.

Johnson was sentenced to nine to 13 years out of Douglas County for possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession of a deadly weapon by a felon.

The community corrections center is the lowest level of custody and least restrictive facility operated by the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services.

Inmates are allowed to participate in work opportunities or attend school and religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.
