LPS: No school for Pyrtle Elementary due to water main break

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Public Schools announced that there will be no school for Pyrtle Elementary students on Monday.
The district said there is a water main break in the area, and the school near 84th and A streets did not have water service.
LPS’s operations team is working with the City of Lincoln to “address the issue.”
The district also noted that the school will be ready for students to return on Tuesday.

“There will be no school for Pyrtle Elementary students today, October 20, due to a water main break in the area and there being no water service to the school. Lincoln Public Schools Operations team continues to work with the City of Lincoln to address the issue and will be ready for Pyrtle students to return on Tuesday.”
Lincoln Transportation and Utilities said the water main break happened around 4:30 a.m. and was repaired by 9:30 a.m.
A spokeswoman for the department noted that water service has returned to the neighborhood.
