Police investigating burglary, dog poisoning in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a pet poisoning.
On Monday, a 62-year-old Lincoln woman reported that her cat had gotten sick and died on Feb. 12. Around the same time, the woman’s pit bull got sick and stopped eating.
On Saturday, she took the dog to the emergency vet, where he died, according to LPD.
The vet told the woman that the dog had been poisoned.
According to the victim, her keys were stolen, and the dog was poisoned on Feb. 10.
The investigation is ongoing, including an individual known to the victim. No arrests have been made or citations issued at this time.
