Messy crash closes portion of Havelock Avenue in northeast Lincoln after truck flips

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — One person was injured after a Jeep collided with a box truck in northeast Lincoln on Monday.

Lincoln Police said it happened at the intersection of N. 71st St. and Havelock Ave. a little after 6 a.m. on Monday.

LPD said the driver of the Jeep did not see a stop sigh and collided with the box truck, knocking it onto it’s side. The driver of the Jeep was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign. LPD also said she was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatning injuries.

The driver of the box truck was not injured, according to LPD.

Police had to shut down a portion of Havelock Ave. for a little while during the morning commute in order to cleanup the crash.
