LPD arrests three after overnight shooting and chase in north Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a shooting in north Lincoln late Sunday night.
It happened in the area of Portia St. and Knox St. around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday.
LPD said it started while officers were in the area on a different service call when they heard gunshots. Witnesses tell police they saw two men fire gunshots at an apartment building in the area and drove off in a black vehicle.
LPD said officer saw a black vehicle leave the area. A traffic stop was initiated, but then it sped away from police vehicles and ran multiple red lights.
A short time later, police said the vehicle crashed into a construction barrier near N. 48th and Cornhusker Highway.


Police said three people then left the vehicle and ran from officers.
All three were arrested after a lengthy search with the help of the Nebraska State Patrol Airwing and LPD K9.
Raven Pierson (23), 19-year-old Aris Phillips, and 20-year-old Owen Kazena are all now facing a slew of charges, including discharging a firearm at a building.
LPD declared the vehicle incolved in the incident as disordly and it was towed.
