New Hire Sean Smith Set to Help with Nebraska Volleyball Program

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Dani Busboom Kelly, the Nebraska Volleyball head coach, introduced the new Director of Volleyball Player Performance and Development as Sean Smith. Smith will coordinate the strength and conditioning program for the players and lead individual developmental plans for the program.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join Nebraska Volleyball,” Smith said. “This program has a tradition that speaks for itself and it’s clear how much it means to the university, the fans and the community, and I’m honored and humbled to be part of that. Having worked with Dani previously, I have a tremendous amount of respect for her leadership and vision, and I cannot wait to get in the gym with our players and staff as we prepare for this season.”
Smith was a part of the Louisville volleyball program with Busboom Kelly from 2018-23. He also worked with the Cardinals’ track and field and softball programs while working as an independent strength, conditioning and performance coach. Smith worked with players across the U.S. and internationally.
Busboom Kelly said that Smith’s passion, knowledge and experience is what makes him an ‘ideal fit’ for the position and promises positive results from this hiring.
