Lincoln man arrested after stealing $2,400 electric bike

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Around 12:30 a.m. this morning, Lincoln Police Department (LPD) was dispatched to a robbery that occurred near 23rd and N streets.

Three or four men approached a 40-year-old Lincoln man and pushed him to the ground. One of the men took his 2025 electric bike valued at $2,400 and rode away.

According to LPD, the victim was found with blood on his hands and face.

The suspect was found near 27th and E streets riding the bike before he road through zoo property. He then ditched the bike and ran off on foot.

Austin Mabrey, 25, was found hiding in the brush and taken into custody with the assistance of a K9 officer.

Mabrey was lodged at the Lancaster County Jail for robbery, obstructing a peace officer and second-degree criminal trespass.
