A few storm chances, getting hot soon
The heat is coming back this weekend and it wants to stick around for a while. Storms are possible over the next several days, but they will be very hit and miss.
Highs on Saturday will be in the 90s for most of the state. We may see a few 100s further southwest.
The heat index starts to creep up, as well.
It will be even warmer for some of us on Sunday. Highs start to get into the middle and upper 90s for parts of Nebraska.
Triple digit heat indices become more likely for eastern Nebraska on Sunday.
Storm chances are out there on Saturday, with a severe weather chance further west.
Above is what our StormCast weather model is saying for timing, duration, and location of the storm chances Saturday.
The severe weather chance moves further east for Sunday. Storms will still be spotty, so not everyone will see storms, but much of central and northeast Nebraska will have a chance for a severe storm.
