Bryan Health launches Sammy’s Bus, a mobile truck that offers mammograms

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Bryan Health is launching Sammy’s Bus, a mobile truck that offers mammograms.

Sammy’s Bus will travel through Lincoln and local communities to offer mammograms at events, businesses and organizations.

It is equipped with advanced 3-D technology to provide the cancer screenings in a relaxed environment.

According to Bryan Health, the use will be focused on areas with limited access in breast cancer screenings.

“Sammy’s Bus is part of that vision of removing those barriers, improving access, reducing transportation or other things that may prevent a woman from going and getting her screening,” Valerie Hunt, Executive Director of Bryan Foundation, said. “That vision, along with the donor, is just that wanting to make it a better place for our region and we were able to make Sammy’s Bus happen.”

Bryan Health said the mammograms are covered by most insurance brands. However, provider order is required.
