Matt Rhule talks Nebraska, Ohio Frank Solich connection in first weekly press conference of season

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – On Monday, Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule took to the podium at Hawks Championship Center, his first weekly press conference of the new football season.

The Huskers begin the 2026 campaign at home Saturday morning at 11 a.m. against Ohio. One key topic Rhule started the press conference out discussing was a big commonality that the Huskers and Bobcats share.

“I don’t think you can talk about a Nebraska-Ohio football game without talking about coach (Frank) Solich,” Rhule said.

Solich led both programs at one point in time before retiring following the 2020 season.
