UNL sexual assault suspect to make first court appearance

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Joseph A. Favata, 32, was lodged at Lancaster County Jail yesterday, and awaits his first court appearance today, Oct. 22.

Favata is the suspect identified in an attempted sexual assault case that occurred on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) campus.

Favata was arrested on Oct. 9 in Wichita, Kansas.

He was charged with attempted first-degree sexual assault and first-degree false imprisonment.

His arraignment is set for 2 p.m.
