Storm chances, cooling down quickly
Strong storms are possible Monday night, then the rain will linger overnight through the first half of Tuesday. Colder air is moving in, as well.
There is a level 1 “Marginal Risk” and a level 2 “Slight Risk” (further southeast) for severe weather this evening.
Damaging wind and isolated tornadoes are possible. ***NOT EVERYONE WILL SEE SEVERE WEATHER, but if you get under a severe storm, 60 mph wind gusts and quick spin up tornadoes will be possible. These kinds of tornadoes are typically short lived and aren’t very strong. Still, 90 mph wind is possible with them.
Heavy rain is possible Monday night into Tuesday morning. An inch or two is possible in parts of eastern Nebraska.
The rain lingers into early Tuesday morning (Election Day!), then tapers off by the afternoon. It’ll be windy and colder, too.
Highs on Tuesday will be in the 40s and 50s.
It’s going to be very windy on Tuesday, as well.
