Lincoln candle company spreading light and feeding hungry kids

Founded in Lincoln in 2014 Feya Candle Company is on a mission to shed light in the community and feed hungry kids around the world.

For every candle the company sells they donate one meal to a child in need.

In 2018 the company donated several thousand meals to shelters across Lincoln and this year they’re hoping to have an even larger impact.

On Saturday morning over two dozen volunteers gathered at City Impact near 33rd and Vine in Lincoln to package 10,000 meals.

Seeing so many people come out to help pack food let Sarah Spitsen, the companies founder, know the company is on the right track.

“When we have this many people coming together volunteering, many of which we’ve never met before, we just want to help out that’s what tells me we’re on the right track, we’re doing what we’re supposed to be doing as a company and people want to be apart of it,” Spitsen said.

It took volunteers about two hours to package all the meals.

The food will be donated to two organizations in Haiti that help feed kids in need.
