No injuries have been reported, but a next-door family was displaced when the flames spread to their home, the former rectory.
“People say a church is a building, but St. Leo’s was more than that to us. We made all our sacraments here,” Ann Marie Kuvik of Port Richmond told local ABC affiliate station WPVI.
“This church, this whole school is a very big part of our childhood. It’s very sad. It’s heart-wrenching to see this today,” Matthew Clemons who was an altar boy at St. Leo’s, also told WPVI.
As of yet, authorities have not released the cause of the fire.
