LPD: Woman hides in camper after burglarizing owner’s home

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A property owner was targeted twice by the same burglar.

Saturday, around 8 pm, officers arrive at an investment property near Capitol Pkwy and S 27th Street after a caller said they hear voices coming from inside the vacant home.

Lincoln Police found 42-year-old Corrine Kucera inside. The property owner, a 72-year-old man, said Kucera did not have permission to be there. She was arrested for Trespassing a short time later.

The next day, around 2 pm, officers were called back to Capitol Pkwy and S 27th Street on a burglary report for a neighboring property owned by the same man.

The owner said he swung by his property to check security and discovered someone had broken a window and stolen vintage baseball cards and jewelry.

According to police, the owner also said that someone had forced entry into a camper parked behind the residence.

When officers check inside the camper, they report finding Kucera and prybar, likely used to gain entry.

The stolen property and a glass pipe with meth residue were also found in Kucera’s belongings, says police.

Kucera was arrested on burglary and drug charges.
