Court docs allege York man called 911 after fatally shooting wife

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A York man tried to revive his wife after he shot her several times, court documents allege.

Bart Beutler, 47, called police Monday night after he shot his wife, 46-year-old Stacie Beutler, according to an affidavit.

A dispatcher heard “heavy breathing and gurgling sounds” during the call, the document says.

The document alleges that Bart shot Stacie “until the clip was empty” after she kept entering the bedroom where he was lying down.

Around 9:50 p.m., officers were sent to the home near Lincoln and Platte Avenues, where they found Stacie, who had multiple gunshot wounds.

While officers were searching the home, they received a 911 call from Stacie’s brother, who said Bart “may have” shot his sister.

Officers then went to the brother’s home in York, where they arrested Bart, according to the affidavit.

Bart was wearing blood-stained clothing at the time of his arrest, the court document alleges.

He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony and possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.

Beutler will need to pay $300,000 to get out of jail.  His next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 15.

In 2010, Beutler was convicted of second-degree murder in Arizona.
