Dave Van Horn and Arkansas back in Omaha for College World Series

OMAHA, Neb. (KLKN) – Former Nebraska baseball coach Dave Van Horn was back in Omaha for the start of his ninth College World Series on Thursday.

Although this is Van Horn’s seventh CWS as Arkansas’ head coach, the program has never won the national title.

Van Horn and his team begin the chase of the team’s first national championship on Saturday, as they take on Stanford at 1 p.m.

Arkansas and the other seven teams in the hunt for the title spent Thursday practicing and talking to media ahead of the start of games on Friday.

Van Horn and his players spoke in a press conference after their practice, where Van Horn shared his excitement for a chance at redemption.

“It’s really special to be back here especially after the way it ended last year,” he said. “We had a perfect season going, it was unbelievable. To lose those last two games by one run both days, you know, was tough. It made just year, just, it was special.”
