Inmate goes missing from Lincoln community corrections center, officials say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services on Monday said an inmate has gone missing from the Community Corrections Center in Lincoln.
Officials said Amanda Eckmann did not return to the facility this afternoon after a job-seeking furlough.
Her electronic monitoring device was found in Lincoln near 44th and Superior streets.
Eckmann started her sentence in July 2024 when she was sentenced between two years and six months to seven years for criminal possession of four or more financial transaction devices and possession of a controlled substance.
Officials said she has a tentative release date of Nov. 7, 2027.
Eckmann is a 34-year-old white female, 5-foot-5, 120 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
Anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts is asked to call local authorities or the Nebraska State Patrol.
CCC-L is one of two community custody facilities operated by NDCS. Community custody is the lowest custody level and the least restrictive facility.
Inmates are allowed to participate in work opportunities, attend school and religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.
