Long-time Lincoln Saltdogs President Charlie Meyer retires
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – After 27 years with the Lincoln Saltdogs, President Charlie Meyer announced on Thursday that he will be retiring, effective immediately.

During Meyer’s tenure, the Saltdogs played in the American Association Wolff Cup Finals in 2009 and 2014, claiming the championship in ’09.
Lincoln also hosted the 2003 Northern League All-Star game.
Haymarket Park has been named the American Association’s “Best Playing Surface” for 24 consecutive years, dating back to Lincoln’s first year as an organization in 2001.
“I am forever grateful, and I want to thank the fans,” said Meyer. “I want to thank the corporate partners. Who wouldn’t want to have this gig? It’s been a great run. Thank you, Lincoln.”
The Saltdogs will host their season and home opener on Friday, May 15, at 7:05 p.m.
