Missing York girl found safe more than a week after disappearing
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A York girl who was missing for more than a week has been found safe.
That’s according to the York Police Department, which says Mercedes American Horse was finally located Wednesday afternoon.
The 11-year-old hadn’t been seen since May 8. The police department said she was spotted with her non-custodial mother, Kayla American Horse, at the time.
Right now, it’s not clear how Mercedes was found or if she was still with her mother.
The department is thanking all of the law enforcement agencies and people who assisted with this investigation.
