More clouds and a touch cooler on Sunday
Mother Nature treated us with a very comfortable pattern on Saturday, full of sunshine and 50s. A few changes come our way on Sunday, but even so, the forecast doesn’t look all too bad.
A wave of high clouds will approach overnight Saturday and will be with us for the day on Sunday. This could turn skies mostly cloudy. At times, we may see more of a filtered sunshine effect.
Winds during the morning will be out of the southwest but will transition out of the north by afternoon. This is due to a weak surface boundary that will be passing through. These northerly winds should keep temperatures slightly cooler on Sunday. We’re forecasting highs in the upper-40s in Lincoln, with even cooler highs to the north.
Sunday’s cloud cover will not stick around for long. Sunshine returns on Monday and highs may skyrocket into the middle and upper-50s. Unfortunately, the nice stretch of weather will come to an end by midweek as a pair of disturbances arrive.
Rain looks like a decent possibility for eastern Nebraska on Valentine’s Day. While much of that activity appears to exit late Tuesday, another wave will arrive by Wednesday night. With this system, we’ll likely be cold enough to see a wintry mix and/or snow. That could persist into Thursday.
It’s still too far away to know the details, but these systems are something we’re keeping an eye on. For now, just enjoy the nice weather!
