One killed in head-on crash with semi north of Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A person was killed early Tuesday morning in a crash with a semitrailer north of Lincoln.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m. near Highway 79 and West Bluff Road.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said a Ford sedan crossed into the opposite lane and hit a semi.

The driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway 79 is currently closed between West Bluff and West Waverly Roads.  People are asked to avoid the area.
