PHOTOS: Total lunar eclipse over Nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Those who had their eyes to the sky early Friday morning got a visual treat.
A total lunar eclipse was visible across the U.S. That occurs when the earth is between the sun and the moon and all three bodies are on the same plane of orbit.
The sun casts the earth’s shadow onto the moon, making it look red. A total lunar eclipse is also called a blood moon.
