LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln police have identified the man killed in Sunday morning’s homicide.
Alonzo Jones, 28, was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound at his apartment near 48th and O Streets early Sunday morning.
LPD says 23-year-old Lendell Harris turned himself in for allegedly pulling the trigger. He was arrested for second-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Lincoln police say Harris and Jones had a confrontation that led up to the shooting. Harris produced a gun during that fight and fired it. Harris’ attorney says he’s claiming he shot the gun in self defense.
Harris currently booked at Lancaster County Jail.
