Warmer, Isolated Storms Through the First Half of the Week
Changes in the weather pattern are on the way for the start of the work week. Highs are expected to climb into the upper 80s and 90s, though a few chances for storms may attempt to save us from the heat.
The latest run of StormCast keeps us dry until later in the day on Monday in eastern Nebraska. Western Nebraska, however, may see several rounds of showers and storms.
Isolated severe storms will be possible on Monday and Tuesday, with the severe weather risk shifting east. A Marginal Risk (Level 1 out of 5) of severe weather is in place for the majority of the state in the coming days.
Temperatures late Sunday into early Monday will be closer to average, with lows in the 60s for most of the state.
Scattered showers will come to a close early in the evening for Lincoln, leaving partly cloudy skies through the majority of the overnight hours.
Highs return to the upper 80s and lower 90s in eastern Nebraska for the start of the week. Additionally, western Nebraska may be the cooler side of the state on Monday afternoon.
Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected for the Capital City with a light southeasterly wind. We will try our best for highs close to the 90s on Monday.
Tuesday and Wednesday look to bring the worst of the heat to the region. Any prolonged storm chances may knock those temperatures down a few degrees. The long-term forecast trends closer to average with our highs, if not below average, by next weekend.
