Women focused work space opening in Lincoln

Two women have identified a need in the capital city.

After being a part of a networking group, Eva and Jenna wanted to create a space for women to succeed in business.

“A common theme that we felt we had heard from women there is that they felt isolated or they felt like they didn’t know where to go for resources in our community, to be able to help them start and grow their businesses,” Jenna Vitosh said.

The founders decided to create a work space, called Arrive.

It’s located at 39th and Normal boulevard.

Business owners from all walks of life can come together to support, understand and encourage one another.

The goal is to help spark a change in the Lincoln area for women.

“Several studies recently have come out that Nebraska actually ranks last for women business owners. So a huge goal for us is to effect change in that way and help more women be independent. Start businesses or grow their business,” Eva Prettyman said.

Although the space is women focused, the founders want to harp on the fact that they are not trying to separate men and women in the workplace, but rather give women the opportunity to succeed in a different environment.

“I think that having a space that’s designed around their needs and their desires that serves their purpose a little bit better can only help them more,” Prettyman said.

The founders said they aren’t looking to make the space a women only atmosphere.

“Everybody is welcome to come work with us and work in our space as long as they are supportive in our mission to help empower women,” Vitosh said.

It offers private offices, conference rooms and is even holding events every month.

“We will have at least three, so two networking events and one workshop. We want to have educational opportunities and allow the experts in the community or women who have really been successful, kind of give back and mentor other women,” Prettyman said.
