Two injured in rollover crash on gravel road in northeast Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two people were injured Friday morning in a rollover crash on a gravel road in northeast Nebraska.

The Stanton County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 8 a.m. near 844th and Ridge roads.

An SUV was heading east when it was struck by a southbound car.

The sheriff’s office said both vehicles left the road and landed on their roofs in a ditch.

The driver of the southbound car, a 17-year-old boy, was trapped and rescued by deputies.

Both drivers were taken to a hospital in Norfolk.

The teen has since been transferred to an Omaha hospital.  He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The sheriff’s office said both vehicles are considered total losses and speed was a factor in the crash.
