Nebraska football seeks to cut down on fumbles against Michigan State

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska struggled to hang on to the football in last week’s win over Purdue.
In total, the Huskers had five fumbles, adding to an already long list of turnovers this season.
On Thursday, coach Matt Rhule said the staff watched every single fumble in hopes of learning why they’re happening so frequently.
The Huskers also partake in ball security drills during every practice, but Rhule said it didn’t seem like it.
“So, we just changed the impact of the drills that we’re doing, and I hope it shows up this Saturday,” he said.

In eight games, Nebraska leads the nation in fumbles lost, with 11.
Rhule took some blame for the turnovers.
“As the head coach, I’m not doing my job because no one wants to fumble,” he said. “They’re not careless fumbles, so we have to improve that.”
