‘It’s been phenomenal’: Husker store sees boost in business with exciting hoops season
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A downtown Lincoln store is seeing a spike in business coinciding with Nebraska basketball’s success this season.
Nebraska shocked the college basketball world Tuesday when it upset No. 1 Purdue, the program’s first top-ranked win since 1982.
This season’s excitement has fans buying more Husker gear at local businesses, including Best of Big Red in the Haymarket.
Football coach Matt Rhule even got in on the action, buying a foam finger for his daughter before the Purdue game, general manager Joey Rupp said.
“It’s been phenomenal,” she said. “People have been so excited, and they’re even more excited now after last night’s win.”
Rupp is looking forward to seeing more customers coming into the store as the season continues.
Nebraska is heading on the road for a Friday matchup against Iowa. That game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
