Thousands without power as storms push through Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Thousands of people in the Lincoln area lost power Friday morning as a thunderstorm moved through Lincoln.
As of 3 a.m., 2,700 Lincoln Electric System customers were without power.
The Norris Public Power District reported 161 outages.
The storm system started in western Nebraska early Thursday evening, spawning multiple reported tornadoes
The National Weather Service received 14 tornado reports in the state on Thursday.
There were three in Keith County, where a user on social media platform X took a photo of two funnel clouds near Ogallala.
The National Weather Service issued tornado warnings for areas of western and northern Lancaster County early Friday.
Tornado warnings were also issued in Lincoln, Hayes, Hitchcock and Red Willow counties on Thursday night.

As the storm pushed east, parts of Buffalo, Hall, Adams, Kearney, Franklin and Webster counties were under tornado warnings after midnight Friday.
By 1:30 a.m., the thunderstorms were knocking on Lincoln’s door.
At 2 a.m., a thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 6 miles west of Lincoln, according to the weather service. It was moving east at 50 mph.
The warning expired at 2:15 a.m.
