Woman sold car that was stolen in Greenwood, Lincoln Police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A woman was arrested Tuesday on charges that she knowingly sold a stolen SUV.

Megan Love, 27, is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and theft by deception.

In October, a Ford Escape was reported stolen in Greenwood, according to court documents.

It finally turned up on May 17, when two officers on patrol spotted it at the U-Stop at 13th and South streets in Lincoln.

The officers approached the car, and a woman inside put them on the phone with a man, Lincoln Police said.

The man told police that he bought the SUV from Love and didn’t know that it was stolen, according to an arrest affidavit.

Police said multiple witnesses confirmed that Love sold the vehicle under false pretenses.

A judge issued an arrest warrant for Love, who court documents say is a transient, last week.

On Wednesday, her bond was set at $15,000. She must pay 10% of that — $1,500 — to be released.

Love’s next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 24.
