Frost advisories and near record heat, back to back
October is an odd month. It can get really hot and really cold, but not usually in back to back days! However, Friday and Saturday may do just that.
There is a Frost Advisory in place for Friday morning for much of the western half of the state.
After the chilly start to the day, we do warm up quickly and then hover in the 70s for the afternoon.
Then, we warm WAY up for Saturday. Below is the forecast for the Huskers game!
The Drought Monitor is out and we keep getting worse and worse. We do need rain, but there is none in the forecast.
Because it is dry, warm, and windy, a Fire Weather Watch is in place for the next several days. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Also, if the Northern Lights are of interest to you, we have a couple of opportunities to see them in Nebraska. They may be out there tonight and Friday night!
