LPD: Vehicle theft leads police to repeat offender

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Police began investigating three thefts which led them to a repeat offender with nearly 25 citations.

On Dec. 18, a 2012 Honda Odyssey was taken from the 500 block of Trail Ridge Dr. The suspect also stole bank cards, making about $130 in unauthorized charges.

Three weeks later, a 2017 Ford Fusion was taken from the 3100 block of N 70th Street. A package theft was also reported a day later.

Using surveillance footage from all three crimes, officers identified the suspect as 21-year-old Noah Miller.

According to Lincoln Police, Miller, known for vandalizing Lincoln’s South Street Temple, has been arrested for 24 misdemeanors and felonies over the past 12 months.

Following further investigation, officers found Miller driving one of the stolen vehicles near N 14th and Superior Streets.

Officers report, when they attempted to pull the car over, Miller sped away. The vehicle was later found abandoned near N 9th and Adams Streets.

Setting up a perimeter around the area, Lincoln Police used a service dog to locate Miller in a backyard with keys to the abandoned vehicle near him.

Miller was cited for multiple theft charges and flee to avoid arrest.
