Nebraska men upset in-state rival No. 14 Creighton
OMAHA, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska men’s basketball bested the Bluejays on Friday night, defeating No. 14 Creighton 74-63 at the CHI Health Center in Omaha.
The Huskers were one step ahead of the Jays from the start, with Juwan Gary making a 3-pointer in the opening seconds of the in-state rivalry game.
Creighton quickly responded with a 3 from Pop Isaacs to tie, but that was as close as the Bluejays would get.
Nebraska regained a lead and held it the rest of the game. In the second half, the Huskers never led by fewer than 7.

Overall, Nebraska shot 42% from the field, compared with 33% from Creighton.
Gary and Brice Williams led NU with 16 points apiece.
Connor Essegian scored 15, Berke Buyuktuncel added 12 and Rollie Worster recorded 11, putting five Huskers in double digits.
All five were prolific behind the 3-point line, with Gary making six shots and all the others adding four each.
CU was led by Isaacs, who scored 25 points and was 7-of-18 from 3-point range.
Steve Ashworth contributed 16 points, and Jamiya Neal tacked on 10.
With the win, Nebraska improves to 5-1 on the season.
The Huskers host South Dakota on Wednesday. The game will air on the Big Ten Network at 5:30 p.m.
