Cold for Thanksgiving; snow chance decreasing for Saturday

The only forecast that matters today … is what’s on the dinner table, right?!
We’re full of gratitude for no new records expected to be set this holiday. The coldest Thanksgiving was back in the late 1800s when Lincoln fell to 1°. We’ve never been subzero on this holiday.
Thanksgiving 2024 will be chilly with a northwest breeze around 10-20 mph. We’ll see intervals of clouds moving in early and again during the afternoon. Any chance at flurries today should mainly be through northeast Nebraska.
Temperatures get colder day by day toward the weekend. Black Friday shoppers should expect morning lows in the teens Friday morning, so add a few extra layers!
The snow potential Saturday is diminishing across southeast Nebraska. Shorter-term models are showing snow now developing farther southeast through northern and central Missouri, toward St. Louis through Saturday morning.
That means chances for us to see 1″ of snow are very low. Far southeast Nebraska (Richardson and Nemaha counties) are included in a “less than 10 percent” chance to see 1″ of snow accumulate.
Most of us if we see much snow, it’ll be less than half an inch.
Temperatures will rebound nicely looking ahead to the middle of next week. We’ll be back to the 50s by then.
