Severe Weather Threat: Sunday and Monday
A SLIGHT Risk for severe weather is in place for central Nebraska on Sunday, with a MARGINAL Risk for the surrounding areas. Storms are expected to develop during the evening hours and move east through the overnight. Threats include large hail, damaging winds of 60+ mph, and a few brief spin-ups. Stay weather-aware through Sunday night, as conditions may change quickly.
A few brief spin-ups are possible Sunday night into Monday morning, mainly stretching from Grand Island eastward. Conditions are favorable for quick, short-lived tornadoes or funnels to develop along any strong storm cells in the area. This might get shifted towards the east overnight tonight.
Hail up to 2″( golf ball size) in diameter will be possible with these storms.
Winds up to 60+ mph will be likely as these storms move east.
StormCast shows storms forming out west along a cold front Sunday evening. As these storms move east, they look to die down by time they get into parts of eastern Nebraska.
A SLIGHT Risk for severe weather covers most of eastern Nebraska on Monday, with a small area of ENHANCED Risk east of Lincoln and Omaha. Be prepared for the potential of strong storms as they develop and track through the region Monday evening. This will most likely get shifted towards the east Sunday afternoon or evening.

Sunday, storms form out west and move east with a potential storm or two in eastern Nebraska Late Sunday night. Monday evening, a few storms possible with severe potential. Temperatures staying warm in the 70s through next week, with rain chances continuing.
