Cold weather delays pool openings across Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department on Thursday delayed the opening of several city pools due to cold weather in the forecast.
Nine city pools were scheduled to open Monday, but that been pushed back to Tuesday.
If cold weather persists through Tuesday, the pools will open on Wednesday.
City policy requires a forecast high of at least 70 degrees for pools to open.
“Our staff has been working hard to prepare for the season, and we’re ready to go. We’ll continue to monitor the forecast and open pools as soon as the weather and the water warm up and are safe and comfortable for swimmers,” Maggie Stuckey-Ross, Parks and Recreation director, said in a statement. “We can’t wait to kick off another great summer at our City pools.”
City pools will be open from 1 to 6 p.m.
