Summer-like heat arriving for a more extensive stay soon
After some weekend rain, many saw at least a tenth to a quarter inch of rain – if not more. There is still a large deficit for the yearly precipitation, though, especially in Lincoln and Hastings.
Monday will be the last milder day with temperatures warming to the upper 70s.
Northwesterly winds and some areas of smoke will work to hinder some of our warming through the afternoon.
While most of the higher concentrations of smoke are expected to stay higher up in the atmosphere again, some will try to sneak down to the surface namely by Monday night.
Mostly dry weather will transition to more storm chances by Wednesday. Right now, there is a Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk across northeast Nebraska for a stronger storm or two. Isolated events of stronger wind gusts and some hail will be possible up that way Wednesday late afternoon and evening.
Summer-like heat arrives for a more extensive stay by Tuesday this time around.
Temperatures will be up around 90 degrees for the next several days into Father’s Day weekend.
