Two Nebraska men arrested following traffic stop in York County, authorities say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two Nebraska men were arrested following a traffic stop in southeast Nebraska.
On Aug. 7, just after 11:45 p.m., deputies with the York County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 80, about seven miles west of York.
During the traffic stop, deputies became suspicious of criminal activity and deployed a police service dog.
According to the sheriff’s office, the dog detected the smell of drugs coming from the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a deadly weapon, according to the sheriff’s office.
The driver of the vehicle — James Manning of Chapman, Nebraska — was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a deadly weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The passenger — Jerome Palu of Central City, Nebraska — was arrested on suspicion of the same charges.
