End-of-week heat in toasty two days; storms possible Sunday
As temperatures increase to end this week, records should be safe both Friday and Saturday.

The HeatRisk map is up in the “Moderate” category (orange) Friday and Saturday for eastern Nebraska.
This end-of-the-week heat is fairly common, but there could be risk for those exposed to the sun for longer periods of time.
The humidity will be nowhere near the corn sweat season (dew points in the middle and upper 70s), so only anticipate a heat index a few degrees warmer Friday afternoon.
Week 3 of our Game of the Week highlights the matchup at Aldrich field tonight: the Seward Bluejays against the Lincoln Pius X Thunderbolts. With a kickoff temperature still in the upper 80s, it’s going to be quite warm throughout the game.
A second day of summer-like temperatures is in the forecast for Saturday. Overnight temperatures by Saturday morning are only expected to cool to about 70°, leaving warm conditions for early tailgaters.
Fans attending the Houston Christian game in Memorial Stadium will be allowed to bring in an empty water bottle with the hot weather.
The game will end during the hottest part of the day, with a heat index again in the low to middle 90s.
Temperatures will start to cool by the end of the weekend with rain chances and our next cold front.
