Last week of summer starts out with temperatures nearing 90
A sweaty summer weekend ended with some strong and severe storms across the state on Sunday.
Rain totals at all reporting locations across the state were at 1″ or less, but radar estimates are higher than that in areas of western and central Nebraska.
Some damage was done as well after wind gusts up around 60-65 mph came through parts of eastern Nebraska along with some hail up to 1″ in diameter.
Namely Tobias, Friend, Staplehurst and Tamora reported some damage after storms swept through.
Monday quiets down with ample sunshine leading to another day close to 90°.
We’ll be up near 90° into Tuesday as well for a summer feel to this final week of the season. Fall will begin next Monday, September 22nd.
Tuesday will feature a risk for severe weather west of us, with those in central and western Nebraska highlighted in a Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk for potential hail and damaging wind.
Here’s a look at what Stormcast is saying for the timing Tuesday into Tuesday night:
Storm chances continue into the day on Wednesday then again Thursday as temperatures will cool back to the 70s by then, too.
