Mostly Sunny, Windy, and Warm for Tuesday
As we head out the door this morning, expect temperatures to linger in the lower 40s until sunrise. Mostly clear skies for the morning commute with a light southeast breeze.
Our average high temperature for early November in Lincoln is in the upper 50s, and our record high for the day is 80 degrees set back in 1909. While we are not expecting a new record high, temperatures today will come close.
Temperatures will remain in the 40s until an hour or two after sunrise, before quickly rising into the 50s and 60s this afternoon.
The latest runs of Stormcast keeps us clear from rain chances over the next couple days. A few passing clouds will be possible, but plenty of sunshine as we close in on the halfway point in the work week.
Highs in Lincoln are expected to reach the lower 70s under mostly sunny skies.
High temperatures across southeast Nebraska are also expected to be in the lower 70s, with strong south-southwesterly winds gusting up to 20 miles per hour.
High temperatures, strong winds, and low relative humidity will create critical fire weather conditions for central and western Nebraska this afternoon. A Red Flag Warning is in place until 7 p.m. CST (6 p.m. MST).
Buckle up as the temperature rollercoaster continues with temperatures dropping back into the 50s for Wednesday. Highs are then expected to return to the 60s heading into the weekend, before cooling off once again for the start of next week.
