LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The No. 1-seeded Nebraska softball team shut out Indiana 5-0 on Friday, advancing to its first Big Ten tournament final since 2022.

The Huskers took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning before a 3-run outburst in the fourth inning. Nebraska tacked on one more in the fifth inning to round out its scoring.

As a team, Nebraska racked up nine hits and committed zero errors, while the Hoosiers only tallied two hits and had zero errors.

Big Ten Freshman of the Year Alexis Jensen was the star of the show, pitching all seven innings while fanning 12 batters, her second-highest total in a game this season.

On the offensive side, Jordy Frahm and Samantha Bland led the Huskers from the plate with two hits apiece.

Frahm, Bland, Hannah Coor, Hannah Camenzind and Lauren Camenzind each had an RBI for the Huskers.

The Hoosiers have a top 10 offense in several offensive categories, but the Huskers continued flexing their muscles in Big Ten play.

Nebraska will await the winner of No. 3 UCLA and No. 7 Wisconsin, with the first pitch of that game scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.

The championship game is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday on the Big Ten Network.
