Severe weather threat: July 8-9, 2026
Much of the eastern half of the state is now in a Severe T-storm Warning through midnight. Hail and damaging wind are possible with storms that do form.
Storms will move from west to east tonight and that will have a damaging wind threat. Meanwhile, storms will form from northeast Nebraska into central Nebraska. Isolated severe storms will be possible with that line, as well.
As those storms move from west to east in southwest to south central Nebraska, wind gusts up to 75 mph will be possible.
Large hail will be spotty, but if you do see hail, it may get up to 1.5″ in diameter.
After the storms roll through, temperatures cool off for a couple of days. Highs on Thursday will be in the middle 80s.
