Norfolk Fire Division finishes renovation, funded mostly from local organizations

NORFOLK, Neb. (KLKN) — Norfolk Fire Division has completed a renovation project that provides additional sleeping and workspace for firefighters.

The project cost around $105,000. It included the construction of six bedrooms, a lieutenant’s office and a report-writing area.

Approximately $85,000 of the cost was funded by donations from local businesses, organizations and individuals.

“The support from local businesses was truly overwhelming. We wanted a final product that will serve generations of firefighters to come, and that is exactly what we got,” Tim Wragge, Fire Chief, said.

Trever O’Brien, Assistant Fire Chief, said the improvements will benefit the crew and community. 

“On behalf of Norfolk Fire and Rescue, we are deeply grateful for the many generous contributions to our living quarters remodel. All the support has made a tremendous difference, and we truly appreciate our local business partners’ commitment to our firefighters. These improvements will directly enhance the health, safety and well-being of our crew, ensuring they have a safe and restorative space to recover between calls. Thank you for standing with us and helping us better serve our community,” O’Brien said.
