Banner County fire only 5% contained in Nebraska panhandle
The wildfire has burn about 1,000 acres over the weekend

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Hackberry CA wildfire in Banner County has now burned through an estimated 3,500 acres as of Sunday. On Friday it only covered 2,500 acres after it broke out around 7 p.m. Thursday night.
The fire is currently 5% contained and the National Interagency Coordination Center Incident Management Situation estimates it will be 100% contained by August 12.
An emergency declaration to the Nebraska Emergency Management agency was submitted Friday.
Two Nebraska Army National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters provided air support on Friday. The helicopters carry 780-gallon water buckets. A Colorado air tanker was also been requested to assist with suppression efforts.
No injuries have been reported and currently and no buildings have been destroyed.
A total of 23 engine crews and 69 personnel are assigned to the Hackberry CA fire.
