A few storms overnight; Cooler for Thursday
A front is positioned over eastern Nebraska Wednesday evening. It will slowly move south through the Channel 8 viewing area as we go through the overnight hours.
Showers and thunderstorms will continue to be possible as we go through the evening and through the overnight. A few of these storms could be strong to severe. Latest computer model data suggests the best chance for “severe” storms will be through 8 p.m. Wednesday. The main threat from storms will be strong winds, small hail, lightning, and heavy downpours.
As the front continues to move south Thursday morning, a few lingering showers will be possible in the morning, especially south of Lincoln.
Skies will remain mostly cloudy for the morning, with clouds beginning to decrease by late Thursday afternoon/evening. Temperatures will be cooler Thursday as winds will be out of the north/northeast and the added cloud cover for the first half of the day. Highs will be in the middle 70°s to lower 80°s.
A nice Friday is en store for southeast Nebraska. Mainly sunny skies and highs in the middle 80°s.
