Bailey Boswell sentenced to life in prison
A jury had found Boswell guilty of the death of Sydney Loofe on October 14, 2020.

WILBER, Neb. (KLKN) – Judge Vicky Johnson has sentenced Bailey Boswell to life in prison on Monday.
I approached the Boswell family for their reaction to the sentence.
One family member responded, saying, “Please step away, we’re having a moment.”
Boswell’s attorney says Boswell is “grateful” that there was no death sentence.

A reminder, a murder is considered to manifest exceptional depravity when one or more of these factors are involved:
-Apparent relishing of murder
-Infliction of gratuitous violence on victim
-Needless mutilation of victim
-Senselessness of crime
-Helplessness of victim— Yousef Nasser (@YousefKLKN) November 8, 2021
Judge Johnson says that Boswell had no regard for Loofe’s life aside from “her own personal pleasure.”

Nebraska Attorney General, Doug Peterson, released a statement on the sentencing of Boswell:
“Throughout the criminal justice process, Sydney’s family has persevered with dignity. With the criminal cases coming to a close and the anniversary of her death approaching, our thoughts are with the Loofe family during this difficult time.”
Peterson added that the sentencing comes at the four-year mark of Loofe’s death.
A Jury had found Boswell guilty of the death of Sydney Loofe on October 14, 2020.
The jury returned a verdict of guilty for the charge of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and improper disposal of human remains.
Boswell’s accomplice, Aubrey Trail, was sentenced to death for the murder of Loofe back in June.
The family of 24-year-old Loofe filed a missing persons report on November 16, 2017, when she did not show up for work at Menard’s. Law enforcement recovered Loofe’s body near Clay Center after three weeks of searching.
The Nebraska Attorney Genera’s Office charged Trail and Boswell with the first-degree murder of Loofe on June 11, 2018.
